The De-evolving Humanity

Humans have evolved from animals but have we actually evolved thereafter? Humans, since the last few decades, have been de-evolving at a pace that soon we all will be termed as inhuman.

The astonishing death of a pregnant elephant in Malappuram district in the elephant obsessed Indian State, Kerala, is a mini trailer of our sincere inhumanity.

The netizens are utterly aghast by this incident. Will showing our support against such gruesome act help? We all know that doing something beyond “posting” is the need of the hour.

The Mannarkkad Forest Range Officer has already lodged a FIR against unidentified culprits under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.

Article 51-A (g) of the Indian Constitution casts a duty on every citizen of India to have compassion for living creatures. With the officers doing their duty it is also our duty that the pregnant elephant in the picture who was killed in human-wildlife conflict should be given justice and the faith in humanity must be restored.

We have successfully arrived at a fact-based conclusion that the wild is less wild and humans a lot less humane. The tables have turned from making the phrase “you are worse than an animal” to “you are worse than a human”.
